Would you look at that. Following in the footsteps of AT&T, O2 has today announced it’ll allow current customers to pay off the remainder of their contracts at a discounted rate when they re-up with the network for the iPhone 4. Irrespective of how much you’re paying now, the UK carrier will charge you a flat rate of £20 ($29) for each leftover month. Considering most iPhone users rock out at £30 and above, that’s a solid 30 percent discount (or contract amnesty, however you wanna view it) for the impatient types. Of course, you’ll be trading away your usual 14-day cooling off period if you take them up on this deal, so you’d better make doubly sure you want the iPhone 4 on O2 before taking the plunge.

T-Mobile is tapping into the popularity of the HTC HD2 with the creation of a trade-in program which allows iPhone owners to turn in their hardware in exchange for a credit ranging from $100 to $350 to be used towards the newly released smartphone. Available only by phone, at non-corporate dealers and through the usual business channels, the only conditions are that the iPhone being traded in must be in full working condition. Not a bad deal at all considering anyone taking up the offer doesn’t even need to sign up for a service contract. Now if only T-Mobile was able to keep these things in stock until the promotion ends on May 19th.

Well, it looks like T-Mobile is doing things right after the recent network outages and Sidekick issues that took place not too long ago! My friends over at CrackBerry informed me of a current promotion that’s taking place where current BlackBerry owners can receive $50 or more via mail-in-rebate for trading in their current device for a new BlackBerry! After grabbing the Curve 8900 back in April of this year, I was annoyed to find out about the new BlackBerry Bold 9700 being released just a few short months later. Being T-Mobile’s first 3G BlackBerry with OS 5.0, I just had to find a way to get my hands on it.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, since T-Mobile is offering a $50 discount on the Samsung Highlight, BlackBerry Bold 9700 and the Motorola CLIQ this Black Friday weekend, it would make sense to obtain the new Bold within these 3 days.
Let’s do the math, shall we?
Bold 9700 (2 year contract or upgrade) Black Friday Promotional Discount Trade-In Value For Curve 8900
Total After Discounts and Promotions |
199.99 -50.00 -145.00
4.99 |
After all is said and done, and 2-4 weeks give or take on the rebate, my new Bold 9700 costs a whopping $5! Think I’m kidding? Head over to this site and see for yourself.
The promotional code is flip2blackberry.
You heard right folks. According to T-Mobile USA’s official Twitter account, the Samsung Highlight, BlackBerry Bold 9700, and Motorola CLIQ are $50 off! Assuming this is with a new 2 year contract or upgrade, $150 for a Bold 9700 sounds nice!
